Time went by and JK was elected to the National Congress. Soon after that he became President of Brazil and immediately looked me up. He came to my home at Canoas and eagerly told me of his plans as we drove back to the city together: "I am going to build a new capital for this country and I want you to help me". He still had that same enthusiasm of twenty years before. "Oscar, this time we are going to build the capital of Brazil. A Modern capital, the most beautiful in the world!"
